John Waters joined the Butler football program in August of 2022 as a defensive analyst. Waters played college football at the University of Redlands. He was part of a 2018 conference championship team while playing for the Bulldogs. The year prior, Waters was a First Team All-Region punt returner.

After his playing career, Waters picked up coaching experience at Brophy College Prep. He coordinated daily activities and exercises for players to develop their skills.

Waters earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Business from Arizona State University. He resides in Carmel, Ind.
