Jordan Grimes joined the Butler staff in February 2026 as the cornerbacks coach. A native of Indianapolis and a graduate of Lawrence Central High School, Grimes returns to his hometown after serving as a defensive assistant and cornerbacks coach at his alma mater, the University of Findlay, in 2025.
During his time at Findlay, Grimes was instrumental in developing one of the premier secondary units in the G-MAC. In 2023, he helped lead a defense that featured ball-hawking play, as the team tied for the conference lead in interceptions. Under his guidance, the Oilers' defensive backs consistently ranked among the top of the league in pass breakups and forced turnovers, establishing a high standard of play for the cornerbacks group.
As a student-athlete, Grimes was a standout defensive back at both Wittenberg University and the University of Findlay. In his final season at Findlay in 2023, he was named Second Team All-G-MAC after appearing in 11 games and recording 40 tackles, including 4.0 tackles-for-loss. He tied for the conference lead with five interceptions, returning them for 137 yards, and added five pass breakups to his career totals. His performance was highlighted by an impressive streak of recording interceptions in three consecutive games against Thomas More, Walsh, and Ohio Dominican.
Prior to his collegiate career, Grimes was a high-impact player at Lawrence Central, where he was ranked among the top 50 in Division 6A for total tackles during his senior season. He finished his final high school campaign with 71 tackles and was a key leader for the Bears' defense in the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference (MIC).
Grimes earned his degree from the University of Findlay.
