Michael Johns

Michael Johns joined the Butler staff prior to the 2015 season. He serves as the Defensive Tackles Coach.

Johns arrived at Butler after one season as a graduate assistant with Black Hills State. Prior to joining the Yellow Jackets, Johns interned with the strength and conditioning department at Miami (Ohio) under Paul Harker.

He was a four-year letterwinner at Miami where he played defensive line for the RedHawks. He was named team captain in 2013. Johns was part of the 2010 Mid-American Conference (MAC) champions that also won the 2011 GoDaddy.com Bowl.

Johns prepped at Oak Forest High School in Oak Forest, Ill., where he was named First Team All-State from the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times. He was also named the Conference Player of the Year.

Johns was born in Chicago, Ill., and earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Integrated English Language Arts.
