Sean Hickey joined the Butler football coaching staff as a defensive analyst in July of 2023. In his role, Hickey will optimize program operations, help develop talent, and be involved in scouting opponents.

Before coming to Butler, Hickey was a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Aberdeen (United Kingdom). He worked with the defense and special teams during the 2022 season while studying abroad.

Hickey is originally from Norman, Okla. and was a volunteer coach at Deer Creek Middle School for two years before joining Aberdeen. Hickey also worked with the Deer Creek High School team in 2019.
