Spencer Summerville - 2017 Headshot

Spencer Summerville '10

Spencer Summerville was named an assistant coach at Butler in June of 2014. In his position, he has primary responsibility for Butler's tight ends.

Accepting the position at Butler brought Summerville back to a familiar place. He was a standout defensive performer for the Bulldogs, 2006-09, and he received his degree from Butler in 2010. He earned first team All-Pioneer Football League recognition in 2009, while helping Butler to a school-record 11 wins, a conference championship and a victory in the postseason Gridiron Classic. The talented safety finished among Butler’s top three players in tackles in each of his last two seasons.

A two-time Academic All-District performer for the Bulldogs, Summerville spent four seasons as an assistant football coach at Park Tudor High School in Indianapolis prior to returning to his alma mater.
