Jack Nierste joined the Butler Athletics Internal Operations Team in October of 2024 as an equipment and operations assistant. Nierste comes to campus after working as a men's basketball graduate assistant at the University of Washington.
Prior to his time with the Huskies, Nierste was a men's basketball student manager at Xavier that worked closely with the equipment department. His first manager position came at Cathedral High School. From there, he helped coach a 17U EYBL Team (Indy Heat Gym Rats) then moved forward to attend Xavier University.
Nierste earned a sports management degree from Xavier in 2023 and obtained an intercollegiate athletic leadership master's degree from Washington in 2024.
