AS A GRADUATE STUDENT (2021-22 SEASON): Utilized the additional season of eligibility provided by the NCAA due to the COVID-19 pandemic...started all 30 games that he appeared in during the season, averaging 31.7 minutes per contest...posted 8.1 points, 3.8 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game...finished tenth in the BIG EAST in assists and 15th in steals (1.2 per game)...shot 47 percent from the field...had nine games scoring in double figures, including a season-high 20 points in the Jan. 7 game with Xavier...went 9-for-14 from the field in that game as he also led the Bulldogs in scoring in that contest...registered a double-double with 14 points and a season-high 10 assists in the Dec. 11 win over Eastern Illinois...had 11 games during the season with five or more assists...had a season-high six rebounds Nov. 23 vs. Texas A&M in the Maui Invitational...recorded seven steals in teh Dec. 29 win over DePaul, which was a career-high and one shy of Butler's single-game record...recorded his 541st career assist in the Feb. 12 win over Marquette, which set a new Butler career mark.

AS A SENIOR (2020-21 SEASON): Injuries limited him to only 14 of the team's 25 games with the team's Feb. 17 game vs. Marquette being his final contest of the season (shoulder surgery)...averaged 10.4 points per game...his 66 assists and average of 4.7 assists per game led the team...started all 14 games he appeared in and played 33.7 minutes per game...shot 52 percent from the field...scored a career-high 21 points in the season-opening win over Western Michigan Nov. 25, one of two times he led the team in scoring during the season...had seven games scoring in double figures...twice posted double-digit assists (10 vs. St. John's Feb. 9 and 11 at Georgetown Feb. 13)...posted a double-double of 17 points and 10 assists in the overtime win over St. John's Feb. 9.

AS A JUNIOR (2019-20 SEASON): Started all 27 games he played (missing four games due to injury)...named one of 10 semifinalists for the 2020 Naismith Men's Defensive Player of the Year Award...led the team with 126 assists (an average of 4.7 per game)...finished fourth in the BIG EAST in assists per game and second in assist/turnover ratio (2.5)...his assist/turnover ratio was 31st nationally...averaged 7.2 points per game on 48-percent shooting (team's sixth-leading scorer)...pulled down 2.9 rebounds per game....played 32.4 minutes per game...his second career double-double came in the Nov. 9 win over New Orleans with 12 points and a season-high 10 assists...scored a season-high 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting) vs. Florida Dec. 7, leading the team in scoring in that win...scored in double figures seven times, including the final two games of the season...had a season-high eight rebounds at Baylor Dec. 10...had seven or more assists in seven games...had a season-high five steals in the March 7 win at Xavier...his 25 steals and 13 blocks were both third on the team.

The 2019-20 season was canceled on March 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2018-19 SEASON): Started all 33 games (one of three Bulldogs to do so)...led the team with 142 assists, which is the tenth-best mark in Butler single-season history...averaged 27.1 minutes per game...scored 6.3 points per game (sixth on the team)...scored in double figures seven times, including a season-best 18 points in the Dec. 18 win over Presbyterian...recorded the first double-double of his career with 11 points and a season-best 12 assists in the NIT game at Nebraska March 20...his average of 4.3 assists per game was fourth in the BIG EAST, while his 2.1 assist/turnover ratio was third in the conference (and Top 80 nationally)...shot 53 percent from the field, including 33 percent from behind the arc (10-30)...his 38 steals were second on the team and 14th in the BIG EAST...hit two three-pointers in the win at DePaul Jan. 16, his first time hitting multiple three-pointers in a game...had five games with seven or more assists, including the 12 at Nebraska and nine in a Dec. 8 win over Northern Illinois...led Butler in scoring in two games. 

AS A FRESHMAN (2017-18 SEASON):
Started 32 of the team's 35 games...his 118 assists led the team (3.4 per game) and were the most by a Butler freshman in program history...his 24.1 minutes per game were fourth on the team...second on the team with 39 steals...averaged 4.3 points per game and 1.4 rebounds per contest...his scoring average was seventh on the team...finished 11th in the BIG EAST in assists per game and fifth in the conference with his 2.0 assist/turnover ratio...scored a career-best 15 points in his second career game (vs. Princeton, Nov. 12), one of four games in double figures...had four or more assists in 16 games, highlighted by a career-high eight assists at DePaul, Jan. 20...pulled down a career-high eight rebounds vs. Providence, Feb. 17...had seven assists in a season-high 34 minutes in the NCAA Tournament win over Arkansas, March 16. 

PRIOR TO BUTLER: A four-star recruit as ranked by both Scout and ESPN, Thompson is generally regarded as a Top-30 point guard in the 2017 class…a two-year starter and four-year contributor at Paul VI Catholic (Va.) High School, he was part of 100 wins, the most of any player in program history…first player in Paul VI's storied history to amass more than 800 points, 400 assists, 300 rebounds, and 200 steals in his career…Washington Post All-Metropolitan first-team selection as a senior when he averaged 10.9 points for the 29-8 Panthers, the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference runners-up…as a junior, Thompson averaged 9.3 points per game to lead Paul VI to a 22-11 record and state championship game appearance…earned second-team All-WCAC honors as both a junior and sophomore before earning first-team honors as a senior…averaged 7.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.4 steals per game in leading Team Takeover to a 10-6 mark during the 2016 EYBL circuit.

PERSONAL: Thompson's older brother, Anthony, was a four-year basketball student-athlete at Holy Cross (graduated in 2017)...son of Nicole and Tony.
