Biography

AS A SENIOR (2021-22 SEASON): Only Bulldog to start all 33 of the team's games and one of only two to play in all 33 games...averaged 24.1 minutes per game...his field goal percentage of 50.9 percent led the team as did his .343 mark from three-point range...made 72.4 percent of his free throw attempts...averaged 8.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game, which were both third on the team...had 14 games scoring in double figures, including two with 20 or more points...led the team in scoring six times and in rebounding on five occasions...had a season-best 22 points in the Feb. 12 win over Marquette...scored 20 points (8-for-10 from the field) in the Dec. 11 win over Eastern Illinois...scored 19 points in back-to-back games (vs. Seton Hall Jan. 4 and vs. Xavier Jan. 7)...had 17 points in the Crossroads Classic match-up with Purdue Dec. 18...pulled down a season-best nine rebounds at Creighton Feb. 8, one of seven games with six or more rebounds...had a season-high four assists at Xavier Feb. 2.

AS A JUNIOR (2020-21 SEASON): Played in 24 of the team's 25 games, starting all 24 games...averaged 27.1 minutes per game...his 10.4 points per game tied for fourth on the team and were 29th in the BIG EAST...finished second on the team in rebounding (112; 4.7 per game)...his 1.9 offensive rebounds per game were 14th in the BIG EAST...shot .473 from the field (13th in the BIG EAST) and .789 from the free throw line...his free throw percentage was second on the team...scored in double figures 15 times, including a career-high 20 points in the March 10 BIG EAST Tournament win over Xavier...led the team in scoring twice and in rebounding in two games...posted the first double-double of his Butler career (10 points, career-high 12 rebounds) at Xavier Feb. 21...had 19 points (including a career-best five three-pointers) at UConn Jan. 26.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2019-20 SEASON): One of three Bulldogs to start all 31 games...his scoring average of 7.9 points per game was fifth on the team...finished fourth on the team in rebounding, pulling down 3.9 per game...shot 50 percent from the field, which was second on the team and tenth in the BIG EAST...his 35 assists were fourth on the team...scored in double figures 10 times, leading the team in scoring in three games...twice led the team in rebounding...named to the 2019 Hall of Fame Classic All-Tournament Team as Butler captured the title...scored 13 points vs. Missouri Nov. 25 and 12 points vs. Stanford Nov. 26 as part of the Hall of Fame Classic...scored 17 points in the season-opening win over IUPUI Nov. 6, which was also the first start of his Butler career...his season-high of 18 points came in the Feb. 5 win over Villanova at Hinkle Fieldhouse...narrowly missed his first career double-double with 14 points and a season-best nine rebounds in the Jan. 10 win at Providence...his 14 points led the Bulldogs in the Crossroads Classic win over Purdue Dec. 21...had a season-high four assists in the win over IUPUI Nov. 6.

The 2019-20 season was canceled on March 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

AS A FRESHMAN (2018-19 SEASON): Missed the first 11 games of the season while recovering from offseason shoulder surgery...played in 15 games for the Bulldogs, logging 90 minutes...averaged 1.7 points and 0.7 rebounds per game...shot 52 percent from the field...scored seven points in only six minutes at Providence March 9...scored four points at Florida Dec. 29.

PRIOR TO BUTLER: Rated a four-star prospect by ESPN and a three-star by 247 Sports and Rivals...played for Team Takeover on the Nike EYBL circuit and was an AAU teammate of Aaron Thompson...as a senior, Golden averaged 15 points and eight rebounds for Saint James, which finished the campaign with a 19-10 record...a three-time first team selection for All-Washington County...scored 18 points and had 11 rebounds to help the Saints beat Flint Hill in the championship game of the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament...shot 37 percent from three-point range...as a junior, Golden averaged 15.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game against a national schedule, which featured six games against teams ranked in the top 25 of the national high school poll...as a sophomore, Golden helped the 25-6 Saints to their first MAC title in 15 years...helped Team Takeover to a runner-up finish at the 2017 Nike EYBL Peach Jam...finished the circuit averaging 8.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in guiding Team Takeover to an 11-5 mark in the Nike EYBL play.

PERSONAL: His brother, Grant, plays basketball at Richmond...son of Ellen DePoy-Golden and Craig Golden.
