AS A REDSHIRT SENIOR (2019-20):
Finished second on the team in both scoring (11.7 points per game) and rebounding (6.3 rebounds per game)...one of three Bulldogs to start all 31 games...finished tenth in the BIG EAST in rebounding, 13th in field goal percentage (.474) and 21st in scoring...scored in double figures in 24 games (tying Kamar Baldwin for the team-lead)...registered three games of 20 or more points...posted the first three double-doubles of his career...led the team in scoring in seven games and in rebounding 10 times...led the team with 65 three-pointers made and in free throw percentage (.868)...finished eighth in the BIG EAST in three-point percentage (.394) and ninth in three-pointers made...averaged a team-best 32.9 minutes per game...posted 16 points and a career-high 14 rebounds in the Senior Night win over St. John's March 4...his 21 points in the Feb. 5 win over Villanova included 7-of-8 shooting (3-for-3 from three-point range)...tied his career-high with seven three-pointers in the Jan. 28 win at Georgetown (25 points)...also posted double-doubles in wins over St. John's Dec. 31 (12 points and 10 rebounds) and Creighton Jan. 4 (18 points and 11 rebounds)...scored a season-high 26 points (one shy of his career-high) in the season-opening win over IUPUI Nov. 6, going 10-for-11 from the field...matched career-high with four assists in the Feb. 29 win over DePaul...had a career-high four steals in the Feb. 9 game at Marquette...in conference games, averaged 11.9 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game...his rebounding average was fourth in the BIG EAST in those conference-only games...twice named to the five-member BIG EAST weekly honor roll

The 2019-20 season was canceled on March 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

AS A REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2018-19): One of three Bulldogs to start all 33 games...finished fourth on the team in scoring at 9.5 points per game...his 3.9 rebounds per game were second on the team...averaged 27.9 minutes per game...shot .406 from three-point range, which led the Bulldogs and was sixth in the BIG EAST...his 73 three-pointers led the team and his average of 2.2 made three-pointers per game was eighth in the BIG EAST...shot 44 percent from the field and 81 percent from the free throw line...scored in double figures in 11 games, including four 20-point outings...led the Bulldogs in scoring seven times and in rebounding eight times...scored a season-best 27 points at Marquette Feb. 20...hit seven three-pointers against both Middle Tennessee Nov. 22 and Northern Illinois Dec. 8...the seven three-pointers against Middle Tennessee tied the Battle 4 Atlantis single-game record...pulled down a season-high 12 rebounds in the Jan. 19 win over St. John's...had seven or more rebounds in five games...had 23 points vs. Northern Illinois Dec. 8, 21 points against Middle Tennessee Nov. 22, and 20 points in the 2018 Crossroads Classic vs. Indiana Dec. 15.

AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2017-18): Saw action in 31 of the team's 35 games, missing the other four games due to an ankle sprain suffered in the Nov. 24 game with Portland State as part of the PK80 event...made 14 starts...his 7.5 points per game were fifth on the team...scored in double figures in 10 games...registered a career-high of 17 points on three occasions, including the Feb. 6 game against Xavier when he went 5-of-6 from three-point range...also hit five three-pointers against Furman Nov. 18 (17 points)...added 17 points at Maryland Nov. 15...shot .431 (47-109) from behind the arc, which was second on the team...averaged 3.9 rebounds per game, leading the team in boards in five games...had a career-high 12 rebounds in the overtime win at Georgetown, Dec. 27, in the BIG EAST opener...one of those rebounds was a tip-in at the end of regulation that sent the game into an extra session...his other game with double-digit rebounds was Jan. 2 at Xavier when he had 11 rebounds...posted a career-high four assists against Furman, Nov. 18, and a career-best four steals at St. John's, Feb. 28...shot 51 percent from the field for the season...started the first six games of the season before suffering his ankle sprain...returned to play in the Crossroads Classic against Purdue Dec. 16, registering a season-low eight minutes...returned to the starting line-up Feb. 17 against Providence and started the final eight games of the season.

AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2016-17): Averaged 10.7 minutes per game, seeing action in 30 of the team's 34 games...started the team's win over Cincinnati, 12/10/16, one of three times he posted a season-best seven points...had seven points and a season-high six rebounds in the win over Vanderbilt, 11/24/16, in the semifinals of the Las Vegas Invitational...averaged 2.3 points and 1.4 rebounds on the season...fifteen of his 22 made field goals were three-pointers...shot 42 percent from the field and 36 percent from behind the arc...played a season-high 25 minutes at Indiana State, 12/7/16...also had seven points against St. John's, 2/15/17.

Redshirted the 2015-16 season.

PRIOR TO BUTLER: 
Averaged 16 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and shot 34 percent from the 3-point line as a senior for Pendleton Heights, as the Arabians finished 17-7...named an Indiana All-Star following his senior season...rebounded from a serious staph infection early in his junior season and went on to post a 14.6 scoring average, while shooting 34% from three-point range...averaged 16.0 points and shooting 43% from the three-point arc while playing for Grassroots Indiana during the summer...coached by Brian Hahn at Pendleton Heights, the same high school that produced Butler standout Kellen Dunham.

PERSONAL: Son of Mike and Kim McDermott...has one brother, Chayce, who is a baseball pitcher at Ball State...from the same high school that produced All-BIG EAST standout Kellen Dunham (who graduated from Butler in 2016)
