Frank Patano, who completed his college playing career a yearago as one of the all-time leading scorers in Butler men’ssoccer history, has returned this season to help the Bulldogs as astudent assistant coach.  He’ll help head coach KellyFindley with game-day coaching, training and travel.

Patano was a four-year letterwiner for the Bulldogs,2005-08.  He led Butler in scoring for three straight seasonsand topped the Horizon League in scoring in each of his final twocampaigns.  He finished his career in fifth place onButler’s all-time list for goals (36) and in sixth place onthe Bulldogs’ all-time list for points (83).  His 15goals in 2007 are the fourth-most in school history, and he’sone of just nine Butler players to score three goals in a match.

A forward from Franklin Park, Ill., Patano earned first teamAll-Horizon League recognition in 2008 and second team All-Leaguehonors in 2007.  He was named to the All-Great Lakes Regionteam for two consecutive years, and he was named Butler’sMost Valuable Player in 2007.
