Kelsey grew up in Fishers, Indiana. She danced competitively with her studio as well as on her high school dance team. She attended Purdue University where she majored in elementary education and minored in dance, while participating as a member of the Purdue Golduster Dance Team.

Dance provided Kelsey the opportunities to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Dublin St. Patrick's Day Parade, two bowl games, and the Bahamas. Kelsey is a first-grade teacher at Fortville Elementary School along with coaching the Bulldog Dance Squad.
