Butler University Athletics

Prior to Butler: Niestrom played for the varsity soccer team at Hinsdale Central from his freshman through junior seasons. Niestrom was a member of the U18 Chicago Fire team in the US Soccer Development Academy under Coach Larry Sunderland. Niestrom had a extremely productive 2013 campaign, winning the Illinois State Cup while being named to the All-Conference, All-Sectional and All-Area team. In 2014 Niestrom was an All-American nominee, while his team was Midwest Region 2 Champions and participated in the National Championship Series.
