Angie Bain joined the Butler softball program as an assistant coach in July, 2018.
Bain is involved in all aspects of the Butler program, including recruiting. Her on-field emphasis is with the team's outfielders while also working extensively with all of the Butler hitters.Â
Bain was a four-year varsity letterwinner as an infielder on the Valparaiso softball team. As a Crusader, Bain helped lead her team to a Horizon League regular season and tournament championship in 2012, where she was named tournament MVP. Â Bain was also named to the all-tournament team in 2013 when the Crusaders were repeat tournament champions. She was named to the All-Newcomer team in 2011.
Off the field, Bain was a three-time NFCA Scholar Athlete and earned the Valparaiso Softball Utilitarian Award.
Bain served as the head varsity softball coach for Concordia Lutheran High School during the 2014-2015 season where she trained and developed softball skills to help each student-athlete grow in their individual and team goals. Bain also served as the head coach for the Fort Wayne Cougar travel softball team from 2010-13 and the head freshman basketball coach at Concordia Lutheran (2014-15).
Bain earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Mathematics with a minor in Fundamentals of Business from Valparaiso in 2014. Bain joined the Bulldogs after completing her Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
