Robert Klatte joined the Butler women's soccer program as an assistant coach in February of 2015. Klatte came to Butler after serving as the head coach for the Purdue Boilermakers for 17 seasons.
A graduate and former student-athlete from Baylor University (business and history), Klatte brings a variety of knowledge and soccer experience to the program.
Klatte previously served as the head coach for the Purdue women's soccer team where he built the program from the ground up. During his 17 seasons, Klatte posted a 175-141-32 record with the Boilermakers.
Klatte made Big Ten history in 2009 by becoming the first coach to lead a team to 10-straight seasons of 10 or more victories. He was named Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2002 and 2007.
Before coaching at Purdue, Klatte was the head coach at Wright State from 1994 to 1996 where he transformed the program into a third-place Metro Collegiate Conference finisher in his final season. He was the assistant coach at Cincinnati in 1992 and 1993. Prior to that, he served as head coach at Baylor University, his alma mater, where he led the Bears to the 1991 Texas Intercollegiate Soccer Championship.
Klatte is known for his enthusiastic attitude and dedication to pursuing excellence. He holds U.S. Soccer 'A' license and will be a valuable addition to the Bulldog's program as his coaching accomplishments date back to 1991.
