Connor Zimmick

Connor Zimmick joined the Butler Volleyball program as an assistant coach in January of 2020. He is involved in all aspects of the Bulldogs’ program, including player development, match scouting and preparation, and recruiting.

Prior to arriving in Indianapolis, Zimmick helped the Kentucky program to SEC titles in both 2018 and 2019 in his two seasons as a graduate assistant on Craig Skinner’s staff. In both seasons, the Wildcats also advanced to the NCAA Regional Semifinals.

Following the 2019 season, for the first time in Kentucky Volleyball history, the Wildcats had three players named All-America by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Leah Edmond was voted first-team, Madison Lilley earned second-team honors and Alli Stumler was elected third-team. Edmond also earned 2019 SEC Player of the Year accolades as Kentucky went 25-7 overall and 16-2 in conference play.

In 2018, the Wildcats rolled through SEC play with an 18-0 mark and finished the season with a 26-5 record.

His club coaching experience includes the 2019 season at the Lexington United Volleyball Club. As the 17s National Head Coach, he led his squad to a fifth-place finish (out of 98 teams) at AAU Nationals. He also coached at Capital Volleyball Academy in Madison, Wis., for three seasons.

Prior to his move to Lexington, Zimmick completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin, where he served as a student manager for the women’s volleyball team as the Badgers advanced to the 2016 NCAA Regional Finals and the 2017 NCAA Regional Semifinals.

From 2014-2017, he worked as the assistant coach at his high school in Middleton, Wis., and helped lead the team to three consecutive state tournament appearances.

Zimmick completed his masters in Sport Leadership at Kentucky in 2019. He is a 2018 graduate of Wisconsin with a degree in communications.
