Lauren Murray joined the Butler coaching staff prior to the 2022 season and was retained by head coach Kyle Shondell as a member of his initial coaching staff.
In June of 2023, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) recognized Murray as part of the organization's first-ever Thirty Under 30 Club awards, highlighting her success with both Rev Volleyball and at Butler.Â
In 2022, she helped the Bulldogs to the program’s first BIG EAST Tournament appearance since 2017. Libero Jaymeson Kinley was selected to the AVCA East All-Region Team after being recognized as the 2022 BIG EAST Libero of the Year while also earning a spot on the All-BIG EAST Team. Setter Cora Taylor also landed on the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team after a vote from the head coaches.

Previously, Murray has been an assistant coach at DePauw University, Cathedral High School, North Central High School, Rev Volleyball Academy, and Team Indiana Volleyball Club.Â
Murray graduated from nearby Marian University in May 2020 with a major in sports performance and a minor in psychology. The Indianapolis native played volleyball for two seasons at Division I Evansville before transferring to Marian.
Prior to college, Murray was a four-year high school starter at Tindley Accelerated School, serving as a co-captain for two seasons and earning all-city honorable mention recognition. In club play, she was a captain for the Team Indiana Volleyball Club in 2016 and 2017.
