Taylor Svehla

The Butler volleyball program has added a new member to the coaching staff for the Fall 2021 season. Taylor Svehla will serve as a volunteer assistant coach, joining head coach Sharon Clark and assistant coaches Connor Zimmick and Sean Keeve. Svehla most recently coached at South Dakota State as a graduate assistant.

"Taylor brings great energy to our staff," Clark explained. "She's a good relationship builder and was both a smart player and a natural leader. These qualities have served her well and we are looking forward to what she brings to our staff."

Svehla (pronounced "Suh-vey-la") joined the Jackrabbits program on May 15, 2019. She worked alongside then first-year head coach Dan Georgalas and assistant Courtney Chacon.

As a student-athlete, Svehla played at Georgia College and was a 2018 AVCA honorable mention All-American. She earned All-Region honors over her final two seasons while finishing as the 2018 Peach Belt Conference Co-Player of the Year. Svehla led the team with 397 kills (3.48 k/s) and 116 blocks as a senior.

The former Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Year (2015) became the school's first-ever member of the 1,000 kill and 300 block club during her final year. She walked off the court for the last time with 1,276 kills and 384 blocks in her outstanding playing career.

Off the court, Svehla earned her bachelor's degree in mathematics in May 2019. She earned a Master of Science degree in Sport and Recreation Administration during her two-year stay at SDSU.
