INDIANAPOLIS – Butler will play a midweek match at DePaul on Wednesday this week before hosting the Xavier Musketeers at Hinkle Fieldhouse this weekend. The DePaul match will begin at 1 PM on Wednesday at McGrath Phillips Arena while Saturday's event will get underway at 4 PM. Admission to the home match vs. Xavier is free!

Logan Leads the BIG EAST in Kills
Anna Logan is one of the top offensive talents in the country and she has the numbers to prove it. Heading into Wednesday's match, Logan ranks fourth in the NCAA in both total kills (351) and points (397). The focal point of the BU offensive attack is hitting .271 on the year to average 4.62 kills per set.
Ferguson Moves to 6th All-Time in Career Assists
Makayla Ferguson has been an impact player at Butler since her rookie season in 2014 when she earned BIG EAST Freshman of the Year honors. Now in her junior season, the standout setter has moved to sixth place all-time at Butler in the career assists category with 2,839. The Martinsville, Ind. native has surpassed 50 assists two different times this season with 58 vs. Gonzaga in the 2016 season opener (5-sets) and 52 in a four-set victory against Loyola. Her career-high total in a single-game came during her freshman campaign when she posted 60 in a five-set match vs. St. John's.
Ferguson Lands on BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Ferguson helped Butler split a pair of conference games as she tallied a double-double in each three-set match in a win vs. Providence and a loss against Creighton. Ferguson averaged 4.33 digs, 1.17 kills and 11.17 assists per set with 34 assists, 14 digs vs. Providence and 33 assists, 12 digs vs. Creighton. Ferguson has posted a double-double in three-straight matches, pushing her season total to seven.
Keep The Streak Alive
Butler hasn't lost to DePaul in volleyball since joining the BIG EAST Conference (2013). Six-straight wins against the Blue Demons in conference play mixed with a 3-2 win in 2012, has moved the all-time series to 14-7 in favor of BU. DePaul's last win against Butler came in the 2006 Western Illinois Invitational on Sept. 9 (3-1).
Conference Battles vs. Xavier
Butler and Xavier have a rich history in volleyball that includes going head-to-head two times a year over the last four years. As members of the A-10 Conference, Xavier took two wins from Butler, sweeping the Bulldogs in each contest. The Musketeers also swept Butler in 2013 when each program made the move to the BIG EAST. The rivals split the regular season series in 2014 with each program picking up a road win. Most recently, Xavier swept Butler in each meeting during the 2015 campaign.
Shake It Up
Anna Logan is the only player to start in all 20 games for Butler this season.
Strong Month of September for Butler
The Bulldogs recorded 10 wins during the month of September for just the fourth time under the guidance of Head Coach
Sharon Clark (2000, 2008, 2013). This year's team went on a nine-match winning streak from Sept. 3-16 in order to reach the feat. During that span, Butler only lost three sets.
Takeda Takes Control of BU Defense
Newcomer
Taylor Takeda stepped into the starting libero role for Butler at the start of the season and has never looked back. The transfer from Dowling College currently leads the team with 306 digs (4.03 per set). She has tallied a double figure dig total in 19 of Butler's 20 matches. Takeda is also a threat offensively with her ability to serve the ball. She currently ranks second on the team with 17 service aces. Her top performance in this category came at Ball State when she registered seven aces against the Cardinals on Sept. 7.
Up Next
Butler will travel to Marquette on Wednesday, Oct. 12 after hosting the Xavier Musketeers on Saturday (Oct. 8). The contest between the Golden Eagles and Bulldogs will begin at 8 PM. That weekend, Butler will host Villanova and Georgetown with the match against the Wildcats to stream on BEDN.
