VILLANOVA, PA. – Butler was victorious in their Sunday afternoon conference match up with the wildcats of Villanova, (25-20, 25-21, 25-23). The 3-0 win moves the Bulldogs overall record to 19-13 and 8-8 in the BIG EAST. BU also moved their current win streak to three consecutive matches.
 
Sophomore Anna Logan paced the 'Dawgs offense and finished with a double-double. Logan finished the three sets with 13 kills and 11 digs to go along with three blocks. Whitney Beck also tallied double-digit kills in the match, finishing right behind Logan with 11.
 
Taylor Takeda and Bri Lilly were strong for thee Butler defense. Takeda had a team-leading 13 digs for the Bulldogs. Lilly was a force at the net for BU, accounting for a match-leading five blocks.
 
Beck got off to a great start for the 'Dawgs, amassing two of her three service aces in Butlers 25-20 win. Logan also saw success early with five kills in the first. Junior Makayle Ferguson tied the set-high for digs (5).
 
The Bulldogs fought off a late set rally in the second to win 25-21. Logan earned another five kills in the set on only nine attempts. Lilly was very active on the defensive for BU, notching three blocks in the second.
 
The 'Dawgs finished off their sweep of the conference opponent with a 25-23 win in the third set. Beck and Logan were crucial in the final points of the set. Beck served three straight points, including another service ace to put Butler ahead 24-22. Logan took it from there with a powerful kill to secure a Bulldogs victory.  Jessica Klingensmith added a set-high four kills in the third.
 
BU will return home for their final two games of the regular season. The golden eagles of Marquette will be visiting historic Hinkle Field house on November 18 to take on the 'Dawgs. The BIG EAST action will get started at 6PM.
