BIG EAST Tournament Outlook
The 2016 BIG EAST Volleyball Championship Tournament will get underway on Friday Nov. 25 at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The top four teams in the conference standings will compete in the semifinals the day after Thanksgiving with the championship match to follow on Saturday, Nov. 26. Creighton, Marquette and Xavier have already clinched a spot in the tournament bracket, but the final spot is still up for grabs heading into the final weekend of the regular season. Seton Hall (9-8) Butler (8-8), Villanova (8-8) and DePaul (7-9) are all still alive for postseason play. Seton Hall swept Butler during the regular season, giving them the tiebreaker over the Bulldogs. BU swept Villanova this year which would give them the edge if those two teams were to tie. If Butler can defeat Marquette on Friday and also get some help with St. John's taking down Seton Hall on Saturday, then Sunday's match between Butler and DePaul would have huge implications on the tournament field.

Logan Leads the BIG EAST in Kills
Anna Logan is one of the top offensive talents in the country and she has the numbers to prove it. Heading into Friday's match, Logan ranks fifth in the NCAA in total kills (545) and fourth in points (621). The focal point of the BU offensive attack is averaging 4.40 kills per set, the 19th best average in the country.

NCAA Rankings
Butler leads the NCAA in team kills (1,695) and assists (1,586). The Bulldogs also rank inside the top-ten with 4,463 total team attacks (8th).

Logan Named BIG EAST Player of the Week
Anna Logan led Butler to a pair of road victories over Georgetown (3-2) and Villanova (3-0) with back-to-back double-double performances. At Georgetown on Saturday, Logan notched 21 kills, 15 digs, five blocks and three service aces to help Butler hold off the Hoyas 3-2. She followed that effort with 13 kills, 11 digs, three blocks and two service aces in the straight-set win at Villanova on Sunday. For the week, Logan averaged 4.25 kills per set to reach a grand total of 34. She hit .275 over the two match span, posting a team-high 43 points.

Killin' It
Anna Logan now ranks third all-time at Butler with 545 kills recorded in a single-season. The single-season record of 600 belongs to Laura Baire who reached that mark during the 1993 season. Logan is now just 23 kills shy of second place and 56 kills shy of the school record.

Butler vs. Marquette Recap (Oct. 12)
Butler lost the first two sets at Marquette, but battled all the way back to push the match to a fifth set. In the end, The Golden Eagles would hold on to record the 3-2 victory. Anna Logan, Bri Lilly, Whitney Beck and Brooke Gregory all reached a double figure kill total with Logan leading the way with 20. Logan also posted a team-high 24 digs in the contest, three more than libero Taylor Takeda. Marquette was led offensively by Taylor Louis who tallied a team-high 20 kills. Lauren Houg ended the contest with 30 digs and Madeline Mosher made an impact with three service aces.

Butler vs. DePaul Recap (Oct. 5)
DePaul was able to hold off Butler earlier in the season to win the first matchup 3-2. The Blue Demons did something that day that nearly no other team has been able to do, slow down Anna Logan. Logan posted 12 kills on 48 attempts that day, her fourth lowest kill total of the season. Brooke Gregory and Whitney Beck stepped up offensively for BU, but DePaul's Myah Reed would lead the Blue Demons to victory with her match-high 21 kills. Reed and Brittany Maxwell did a majority of the damage in the first meeting with Colleen Smith in the mix at the setter position. Smith went off for 50 assists while adding 11 digs for the double-double.

Triple Threat
The Bulldogs have three players with 20 service aces on the same team for the first time since the 2012 season. Makayla Ferguson leads the way with 31, Anna Logan is second with 28 and Taylor Takeda is third on the team with 22.
