INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler volleyball team will return to action this weekend with a pair of road matches. Friday night, Butler will play at #25 Creighton inside D.J. Sokol Arena. The game is slated for 7 PM. Sunday afternoon, Butler will take on the Providence Friars at Alumni Hall. Start time is scheduled for 1 PM.

Beck Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Beck posted a double-double at Xavier with 18 kills and 20 digs. The outside hitter only made five errors on 41 swings to post a .317 attack percentage. She ended the contest with 22.5 points by adding four service aces and a block. She tied her season-high marks in kills, aces, and digs while setting a new high in points.
Killin' It
Anna Logan leads Butler with 485 kills. Her 21-kill performance at Xavier last weekend moved her into 10th place in the BU record book for most kills recorded in a single-season. Two more kills will push Logan up to eighth on the top-ten list and 13 would carry her all the way up to sixth. If Logan averages 14 kills per match over Butler's six remaining regular season games she will move to second all-time.
Beck Coming Up Big
Redshirt sophomore
Whitney Beck has hit her stride in recent weeks, giving Butler another talented weapon at the outside hitter position. Over Butler's last seven matches, Beck has recorded five double-doubles and is averaging 3.18 kills per set. BU is 3-4 during that stretch with three of the four losses coming in five sets.
Butler vs. Creighton Recap (Oct. 1)
The Bluejays swept the Bulldogs in the first meeting 25-22, 25-23, 25-12. Jaali Winters posted a double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs. CU's dig leader was Brittany Witt who ended the contest with 17. Creighton hit .294 as a team and posted 11 team blocks. Butler was limited to a .168 attack percentage and managed only four blocks. Whitney Beck were the top options for BU offensively with 17 and 12 kills respectively. Logan just missed a double-double by adding nine digs, a category highlighted by
Taylor Takeda who posted 22.
Makayla Ferguson was an impact player with 34 assists and 14 digs. For Providence, Cicyia Clark had a double-double with 25 assists and 10 digs. Kayla Fitzgerald posted nine kills and 11 digs.
NCAA Rankings
Butler moved to #2 in the country in both kills (1,490) and assists (1,398). Houston Baptist took the top spot in each category with nine more kills and 12 more assists. BU ranks eighth in total attacks with 3,916 and 17th in total blocks with 248.5.
Logan Leads the BIG EAST in Kills
Anna Logan is one of the top offensive talents in the country and she has the numbers to prove it. Heading into Friday's match, Logan ranks fifth in the NCAA in total kills (485) and fourth in points (550). The focal point of the BU offensive attack is averaging 4.45 kills per set, the 17th best average in the country.
Ferguson Moves to 6th All-Time in Career Assists
Makayla Ferguson has been an impact player at Butler since her rookie season (2014) when she earned BIG EAST Freshman of the Year honors. Now in her junior season, the standout setter has moved to sixth place all-time at Butler in the career assists category with 3,102. The Martinsville, Ind. native has surpassed 50 assists two different times this season with 58 vs. Gonzaga (5-sets) and 52 (four-sets) against Loyola. She currently leads the BIG EAST with 970 total assists.
Triple Threat
The Bulldogs have three players with 20 service aces on the same team for the first time since the 2012 season.

The tail end of Butler's five-match road trip will include games at Georgetown and Villanova. The Hoyas will host Butler on Saturday, Nov. 12 while the Wildcats will play BU the following day. Each match is slated for 2 PM.
