GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Butler women's basketball team lost at Green Bay on Tuesday night by the final score of 61-34. Butler ends the non-conference schedule with a 3-8 record and now will shift their focus to BIG EAST play which starts next week at Creighton.
Sydney Shelton scored a team-high 12 points for BU. All four of her made field goals came from 3-point range and three of the four from long distance came in the fourth quarter. Shelton ended the game on a high-note while fellow freshman
Kristen Spolyar did all of her damage in the opening quarter. Spolyar was ready to go at the opening tip scoring all nine of her points in the opening nine minutes of the game.
Green Bay took a 17-point lead into the locker room at halftime by controlling the second quarter. The Phoenix scored the first eight points of the second frame while ending the final 3:33 on a 9-0 scoring run. Butler committed nine of their 15 first half turnovers over the final five minutes of the second quarter. The Phoenix turned 15 BU miscues into 19 points.

Sydney Buck all sidelined due to injury, Butler was limited to just eight active players. Foul trouble would set in early on Tuesday night with BU called for 14 fouls while the home squad was only whistled for five. Green Bay took advantage of their opportunities by hitting 12 of their 16 field goal attempts in the first half. BU connected on a pair thanks to

The second quarter hangover would move into the second half for Butler. The Bulldogs only managed to score five points in the third quarter. They would match Green Bay in the fourth 9-9.
The Green Bay contest signaled the end of the non-conference portion of the schedule for Butler. BIG EAST action will get underway after Christmas with BU traveling to Creighton and Providence.
