BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana and Butler came together on Sunday for a dual match at the IU Tennis Center. The Hoosiers defeated the Bulldogs 7-0 to pick up their seventh win of the season. With the setback, Butler moves to 9-9 on the year.
Doubles action went to the home team with IU getting wins at No.1 and No. 3. #59 Daniel Bednarczyk and Sam Monette defeated Mason Dragos and Mikheil Khmiadashvili 6-2 at the top spot while Adrian Mag and Alex Woldmoe were defeated at No. 3 6-1.
In singles action, Mason Dragos played at No. 1 where he took a 6-1, 6-0 loss. Temilope Adelakun was the next to go down on Sunday as he took a 6-1, 6-1 loss to Chris Essick. At No. 2 in the lineup, Ari Gerstein was defeated 6-2, 6-2.
The final three matches of the day were the closest with Spencer Lang, Khmiadashvili and Mag in action. Lang was edged 7-5, 7-6 at No. 4 and Khmiadashvili was defeated 7-5, 6-3 at No. 3. The final match to end on Sunday was between Elliot Yee and Mag. Yee came out on top 7-6, 6-3.
