Tari St. John said after the match. "There is a real understanding between players and the connections we are finding will serve us well going forward."
Butler outshot the Purple Aces 14 to 12, but it was their stout defense that continued its stellar play.
Hannah Luedtke played all 90 minutes and recorded two saves. Sunday's contest marked Butler's fourth consecutive shutout.
Butler will begin Big East play next Saturday when they travel to Villanova to face the Wildcats. The match is scheduled to start at 1 pm and can be seen on the Big East Digital Network.
