Logan Leads the Nation in Kills
Anna Logan is one of the top offensive talents in the country after the first four weeks of the season and she has the numbers to prove it. Heading into the weekend, Logan leads the NCAA in total kills (279) and ranks second in points (316). The focal point of the BU offensive attack is hitting .281 on the year to average 4.57 kills per set. The single-season kills per set school record at Butler is held by Kali Carter, a 2004 graduate that averaged 4.57 kills per set her senior year. Logan will also be chasing the single-season kills record of 600 set by Laura Baire during the 1993 campaign.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Anna Logan continues to lead the BIG EAST in kills and points per set as she added to her average with 4.50 k/s, 5.18 p/s in a 3-1 week for the Bulldogs. Logan was named to the Butler Invitational All-Tournament team as Butler gained wins over Northern Kentucky and Loyola, but lost to Arizona. Earlier in the week, Butler defeated Indiana State. Logan had a double-double vs. NKU with 15 kills and 10 digs. Averaged 2.36 digs per set.

Winning Ways
Butler, Seton Hall and St. John's have all found success early in the 2016 season which led to some lengthy winning-streaks for each program. Butler won nine-straight from Sept. 3-16, before being knock off by Arizona. The Red Storm started the season 7-0, before taking a setback to UC Santa Barbara on Sept. 10 and despite a losing record, the Pirates went on a five-match winning streak from Sept. 3-10. All three programs dominated the competition with BU only losing three sets during their streak, SHU only lost two while STJ only lost one.

All-Tournament Teams
Butler played in four fall tournaments and were well represented when clubs voted on the all-tournament teams. Anna Logan was included on all four all-tournament teams while newcomer Taylor Takeda made the list at the Utah Classic and the Butler Invitational. Additional honors went to Makayla Ferguson and Brooke Gregory who joined Logan on the Butler Classic All-Tournament Team. Ferguson was tabbed tournament MVP as she guided BU to a perfect record that weekend.

Midweek Matches
Seton Hall and St. John's each took the court against a conference opponent on Tuesday of this week. The Pirates were defeated 3-0 at Villanova while the Red Storm collected a 3-1 win at Georgetown. Top performers for Seton Hall included Sophia Coffey and Danielle Schroeder. Coffey just missed a double-double with 19 assists and nine digs while Schroeder paced the offense with a team-high 10 kills. St. John's was led to victory by Danisha Moss and Margherita Bianchin. Moss posted seven blocks and 10 kills while Bianchin recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs.

You Can Count on Klingensmith
Jessica Klingensmith recorded more blocks after the first 11 matches of the 2016 season than she recorded during the entire 2015 campaign. The switch to the middle of the Butler defense has worked with the redshirt-junior leading the team with 64 blocks. Klingensmith still ranks fourth on the team in kills (90).

Takeda with the Ace
Butler posted a season-high 11 aces in the 3-0 sweep at Ball State. Taylor Takeda finished the match with seven aces, just two shy of tying the school record. The last Bulldog to post seven service aces in a single-match was Lynn Hardin (5-sets) during the 1993 season. The school record of nine belongs to Laura Baire who dominated the match against Wright State during the 1995 campaign.

Up Next
The Bulldogs will host Providence and Creighton next weekend at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The match against the Friars will take place on Friday, Sept. 30 at 6 PM. Saturday's tilt vs. the Bluejays is also slated to begin at 6 PM.
