Scouting DePaul
DePaul broke a five-match losing streak on Saturday by defeating the Georgetown Hoyas 3-2. The Blue Demons are now 8-12 overall with a 2-6 mark against BIG EAST competition. Brittany Maxwell is the driving force of the DePaul attack. The 6-3 junior has 257 kills on the season, an average of 3.38 per set. Maxwell led DePaul with 16 kills off 40 swings in the first meeting against Butler. She was the only Blue Demon to reach a double figure kill total. Butler limited DePaul to a .084 team attack percentage on Sept. 27. Claire Anderson and Myah Reed each ended the game with eight kills. Anna Logan led the Bulldogs to victory with 17 kills and a team-high 18 digs. Bri Lilly was active with eight blocks and four kills while Whitney Beck ended the 3-0 BU sweep with 10 kills and nine digs (25-19, 25-20, 26-24).

About Marquette
The Golden Eagles are 14-6 overall with an 8-1 record against conference foes. They recently defeated the nationally-ranked Creighton Bluejays 3-0, but slipped at Villanova, losing to the Wildcats 3-2. Outside hitter Allie Barber continues to be a bright spot in the Marquette starting lineup by leading the team with 347 kills. Butler was able to slow down Barber in the first meeting by limiting her to just seven kills on 24 attempts. Marquette was still able to pull out a 3-0 win at Butler by getting 25 combined kills from Anna Haak and Jenna Rosenthal (25-21, 25-21, 25-20). Haak was the player of the game after recording 13 kills and eight digs, but Rosenthal made the most of her opportunities to post 12 kills off just 20 swings (.550). She is also the team leader in blocks (75) and service aces (22).

Logan Lands ON BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Indianapolis local Anna Logan averaged 4.38 points, 3.62 kills, 3.0 digs and 1.00 blocks per set in a 1-1 week for Butler which included a five-set loss to Creighton a straight-set sweep over Providence. Logan posted a double-double with 13 kills, 18 digs and six blocks in the loss to the Bluejays her 16 kills against PC were match high in league play last week in three set matches.

Balanced Attack
BU has had four different players record a double-double in the same game, in two of their last four matches. Makayla Ferguson, Anna Logan, Natalie Ravenell and Whitney Beck all notched a double-double in the win over St. John's. This same group of players came up with double-doubles in the 3-2 setback at Creighton.

Ferguson Finds Her Groove
Setter Makayla Ferguson has recorded 40+ assists in four-straight matches. That stretch of games includes three wins and just one loss. Two of the four matches ended in just three sets. The four-set win came vs. St. John's and the lone five-set match was the 3-2 loss at Creighton, although BU won the first two sets.

Chasing History
Two Bulldogs are trying to add their name to the BU record book this season. Libero Taylor Takeda is currently hanging onto the eighth-highest digs per set average in school history (4.29) and middle blocker Bri Lilly comes in at eighth on the top ten list in blocks per set (1.39).

NCAA Rankings
BU ranks 12th in the NCAA in blocks per set (2.95) and 29th in opponent hitting percentage (.163). They lead the BIG EAST in each category. Bri Lilly is leading the conference in blocks per set. 1.39 blocks per set has her ranked 30th nationally.

1,000 Career Kills
Anna Logan passed 1,000 career kills in Butler's 3-0 sweep over DePaul on Sept. 27. She heads into the weekend with 1,094 career kills. In order to break into the top ten list at Butler, Logan will have to record 1,321 kills. The all-time career leader at Butler is Laura Baire who recorded 1,812 kills from 1992-95.

Clark Reaches 300 Wins at Butler
Sharon Clark recorded her 300th win at Butler on Saturday, Oct. 7. Clark is in her 18th season as the head coach of the Butler volleyball program. She has led BU to 11 winning seasons and has reached 20-plus wins on six occasions.
