Box Score The softball team fell to Murray State 9-4 to close out the weekend at the Mardi Gras Invitational hosted by South Alabama. The Bulldogs season record drops to 4-6 with the loss.
Gabbi Schnaiter started on the mound for the Bulldogs, tallying five strikeouts in 4 innings. The freshman took the loss for a 2-3 record this season.
Butler scored two in the first inning to give the team an early boost. A single from
Sarah Dixon brought
Jenna Foreman home for the first run of the game. Dixon led the team with three hits and was 3-for-4.

The Bulldogs increased their lead with two more runs in the second and third innings. Murray State held the team off in the remaining innings to steal the win.
A six-run inning in the fifth and single run in the sixth from Murray State sealed the win over Butler.
The Bulldogs will travel to Missouri to face Maryland on March 3.
