No. 2 Indiana Tops @ButlerMSoccer, 3-0

In the team's final break from BIG EAST play, the Bulldogs traveled south to Bloomington, Ind., for an in-state match-up with No. 2 Indiana. The host Hoosiers came away with a 3-0 win.

Indiana improves to 12-2 on the season; Butler is now 3-9-2.

Justin Rennicks got Indiana on the board first with a diving header that found the net in the fifth minute. The Hoosiers would double the lead in the 23rd minute as Trevor Swartz served up a corner that Timmy Mehl headed in for his first goal of the season.

As Butler began to increase possession and their attack, Indiana put the match out of reach as Trevor Swartz played a long ball to Spencer Glass, who was able to get behind the Butler defense and send a blast to the upper left corner of the frame.

Indiana had a 14-11 edge in shots, but 6-2 in shots on goal. Griffin Dorsey led the Hoosiers with five shots.

Joe Moulden, Marco Charalambous, Brandon Guhl, and Griffin DeBolt each had two shots for the Bulldogs.

Trey Muse played 82 minutes in goal for the Hoosiers, making two saves in the shutout.

The Bulldogs return to action Saturday, traveling to Villanova for a 1 p.m. kick on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
