SCOUTING DRAKE: Drake leads the PFL in total defense, allowing just 264 yards of offense per game. They allowed 48 points to #14 Montana in Week 1, but limited Missouri S&T to 12 points and Jacksonville to just nine to improve to 2-1 on the season. No one player jumps off the stat sheet on the Drake defense, but the Bulldogs are steady across the board. They have nine different student-athletes with 10+ tackles, seven different players with a sack, and three players with an interception. Offensively, Drake has been attacking through the air this year. QB Grant Kraemer is one of only two players in the PFL to average over 200 yards of passing per game. His top target is Steven Doran, a senior wideout with 279 yards and four touchdowns over three games. 34 of Drake's 53 first downs on the year have come through the air. Their rushing attack has been lacking with Drew Lauer recording just 69 total yards on 25 carries (23.0 yards per game).

Kraemer passed for 329 yards last year against Butler with two touchdowns. He hit 27 of his 40 targets. Doran was in the box score with 73 yards and one TD.

ALL-TIME SERIES: Drake leads the all-times series against Butler 18-8-1. Last year's game went to Drake 27-16. Butler's last win came in 2015, 20-13.

Drake went 8-for-16 on third down last year at Butler to help earn the win. They also went 2-for-2 on fourth down.

LAST MEETING: Anthony Scaccia scored the lone TD of the contest the last time BU faced Drake. His six-yard run was the final score of the first half. Drew Bevelhimer supplied the rest of the points going 3-for-3 on field goals from 32, 42 and 43 yards out.

Pace Temple caught seven balls for 138 yards the last time he faced Drake.

AIR ATTACK: A year ago, Drake scored a TD on their first three possessions of the game. 23 of their 28 first downs came through the passing game.

WR Steve Doran is coming off a three touchdown game in Drake's 41-9 win at Jacksonville.

UNDER PRESSURE: Butler got after the quarterback last week and ended the contest with a season-high four sacks. BU only had two sacks over their first three games of the season.

Mark Geers and Matt Hawkins lead the team in QB hurries. Geers has disrupted a play five times, Hawkins is second with four.

PROTECT THE POCKET: Butler has only allowed seven sacks this season with three of those seven coming vs. Princeton.

Marty was sacked on the opening drive vs. Morehead State. Butler kept the pressure off the BU QB the rest of the game.

ONE-TWO PUNCH: Both BU running backs are averaging over 5.0 yards per carry this season. Brad Sznajder leads the team in carries and yards, but Anthony Scaccia has proven his worth with 200 yards on the ground this year. Scaccia averaged 7.0 yards per carry last week vs. Morehead State.

Sznajder already has more carries over the first four games of the 2018 season (68) than he had during the entire 2017 campaign (39).

MARTY MAKES HIS MARK: QB Will Marty placed his name in the Butler record book vs. Morehead State. The redshirt-senior now has 3,637 passing yards over his four-year career. He currently ranks 10th on the all-time top-ten list and is just 98 yards away from ninth, and 153 away from eighth.

Marty threw for 134 yards and two touchdowns vs. Morehead State.

ALL-TIME GREAT: Pace Temple heads into the weekend with 173 career receptions to total 2,634 yards. He ranks second all-time at Butler in career receiving yards and is up to third all-time in receptions. Temple needs 360 yards to pass Zach Watkins (08-11) for the top spot in receiving yards and 19 catches to move into second place in receptions.

Temple hauled in a 17-yard TD pass from Will Marty against Morehead State. He ended the game with five catches for 85 yards.

ROAD WARRIORS: Butler is 2-0 on the road this year with wins at Youngstown State and Taylor. The Bulldogs have not won at Drake since 1994 (28-20).

The first-ever meeting between Butler and Drake was played in 1932. The game ended in a 0-0 tie.

ITS GOOD: Butler kicker Drew Bevelhimer has made 31 field goals during his Bulldog career, just five shy of the all-time career school record. The BU record currently belongs to David Lang who hit 35 field goals from 2008-11.

Drew Bevelhimer hit a 42-yard field goal against Morehead State to give BU a 10-point cushion early in the fourth quarter.

VORIS VS. DRAKE: Head Coach Jeff Voris is 4-8 all-time vs. Drake. The last five meeting have all been decided by 14 points or less.

BRUNNER EYES 100 TACKLES: Mason Brunner is eight tackles shy of 100 for his career.

HOMECOMING: Butler notched a win on homecoming weekend for the second-straight year. They will reverse their role this Saturday and play Drake on their homecoming weekend.

UP NEXT: Butler will play at Valparaiso next Saturday, Oct. 13. Kick-off is set for 2 PM.
