Butler closed its four-game weekend in Memphis with a 12-3 loss to Bowling Green.
Bowling Green broke open a 2-2 tie with five runs in the top of the fourth inning.
Kaitlin Doud led the Butler offensive attack with a 2-for-3 day at the plate. That included a solo home run in the fourth inning. It was her third long ball of the season.
After Bowling Green had taken an early 2-0 lead,
Christina Candotti's two-run double tied the game in the second inning.
Bowling Green scored five times in the fourth inning to re-take the lead and then put five insurance runs on the board in the top of the seventh. BGSU had 15 hits in the game.
Butler countered with six base hits.
Doud and
Ambry Turpen were in the circle for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs are now 6-12 on the season.
Butler plays seven games in Florida next week for its annual Spring Break trip. Action begins with games against Lehigh and Quinnipiac on Wednesday.
