INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler Bulldogs improved to 16-3 on the year after recording an 11-1 win at home against Saint Francis. The game was called after the top of the seventh inning with BU holding a 10-run lead. Butler will now prep for a three-game series this weekend against Valparaiso.
Butler scored first by pushing a pair of runs across home plate in the bottom of the second inning. Each team would score in the third to make the game 3-1, but a seven-run fourth inning followed by a single score in the fifth would give the Bulldogs the 10-run lead.
Duncan Hewitt was excellent in the win, going 3-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored. All three of Hewitt's hits went for extra bases. He ended the day with two doubles and a triple.
