@ButlerUBaseball Earns 13-4 Win vs. Anderson

INDIANAPOLIS – The Bulldogs scored 13 runs off 15 hits on Wednesday afternoon to post a lopsided win over Anderson at Grand Park. The victory moves Butler's overall record to 17-4.

A total team effort helped Butler find the win column against the Ravens. Ryan Pepiot shined over the first four innings on the mound with five strikeouts. He didn't allow a hit during his start, but would not take the bump in the fifth which allowed Joe Graziano to earn his first collegiate win.

Kevin Napoleon tossed a full inning out of the bullpen and Butler would stay busy by sending six other arms to the hill. Jack Myers, Brock Balderson, Jack Pilcher, Landen Haney, Grant Hurn and Ryan Schmit also saw playing time.

The loss went to right-hander Seth Eldridge (3-0). The knuckleball pitcher tossed 3.1 innings of action which resulted in five BU runs. Butler touched up Zach Lane for four more runs and the final two would cross home plate over the final three innings of competition.

Michael Hartnagel went 3-for-4 against Anderson with an RBI and a run scored. Harrison Freed had a multi-hit game for BU going 2-for-3 with triple. Gehrig Parker and Tyler Houston were also in the box score with a triple.

Nine different players ended the game with at least one RBI. Parker and James Gargano shared the team lead with two each.

Butler scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning and would enjoy a 4-0 lead after three. The game was blown wide open with Butler scoring four runs in the fourth and four more in the sixth. The final Bulldog run came home in the seventh.

Butler will now shift their focus to IU for a three-game weekend series. Action will get underway Thursday night at 6 PM.
