OSCEOLA, Fla.—Butler improved to 10-1 on the year with a lop-sided 19-1 victory over Saint Peter's on Sunday afternoon. Nine of Butler's 19 runs came in the bottom of the second inning allowing BU to coast to the finish line. Eight different Bulldogs came up with at least one RBI on the day.
Zach Parker capped off a good weekend with a 2-for-2 day from the plate with a team-high five RBI.
Michael Hartnagel and
James Gargano were also factors in the outcome with three RBI each.
Ryan Pepiot got the start on the mound and tossed five full innings to earn the win. He struck out six and only issued two walks. The BU bullpen was busy from that point on with eight other arms touching the rubber.
Extra base hits belonged to
Jordan Wendel,
Zach Jarosz (2), Gargano,
Justin Hensley and
Zach Parker.
Jacob Margroff posted solid numbers at the top of the order. He went 2-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored.
Tyler Houston was also in the box score with two runs scored as part of a 2-for-3 day.
Butler will look to take this momentum back to Indianapolis with the team returning to Bulldog Park for the upcoming home opener against Fort Wayne.
