The Bulldogs continue BIG EAST play Saturday, hosting Temple (7-6, 2-3 BIG EAST) for their sixth BIG EAST contest. Butler is still hunting for their first BIG EAST win this season after falling to Georgetown 20-13 the weekend before.
Following Saturday's match against Temple, the Bulldogs travel to Philadelphia, Pa. on Wednesday, April 18, to battle the Villanova Wildcats (6-6, 1-4 BIG EAST).
Christina Soderquist and
Ashley Guerra continue to lead the Bulldog attack. Against Georgetown, Soderquist posted her third hat trick of the season, bringing her season total to 17 goals. The junior also leads the team in draw controls with 66.
Guerra leads the team in goals (19), assists (10), and points (29). She has played in every game for the Bulldogs and scored at least one goal in nine of Butler's 13 games, including five goals in the Bulldogs' 16-7 rout of Howard.
Freshman
Karina Latsko also posted a hat trick against the Hoyas, the first of her career, and now has nine goals this season. Captain
Haley Hallenbeck has put 15 in the back of the net for the Bulldogs and dished out four assists.
Morgan Paige, another freshman attacker, rounds out the Bulldogs' attack with 14 goals and four assists.
Goalkeepers
Amanda Rumsey and
Haley Rayburn have similar stats in goal for the Bulldogs. Rayburn has seen playing time in all 13 games, posting a 17.03 goals-against average and a .395 save percentage. Rumsey has played in 10 games with a 17.93 goals-against average, and a .350 save percentage.
Carly Hewitt and
Mary Davide both help out on the defensive side of the ball for Butler. Davide leads the team in ground balls with 22, while Hewitt is the team-leader in caused turnovers with 16. Captain
Jordan Fischbach isn't far behind, picking up 18 ground balls and causing eight turnovers.

Scouting Temple
The Owls own BIG EAST wins over Denver and Cincinnati but are on a three-game losing streak, falling to Marquette, No. 7 Florida, and Connecticut. Temple currently sits sixth in the conference with a 2-3 record.
Sophomores Maddie Gebert and Olivia Thompson each have over 20 points for the Temple attack. Gebert has a team-high 22 goals and 25 points. Olivia Thompson has dished out five assists and put 17 in the back of the net for 22 total points. Junior Amber Lambeth also has 17 goals for the Owls.
On the defensive side, Kara Nakrasius and Nicole Latgis are threats for the Bulldog attack. Latgis has caused a team-high 26 turnovers and picked up 37 ground balls. Nakrasius follows with 23 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers. She also leads the team in draw controls with 48.
Temple has remained consistent in goal, starting sophomore Maryn Lowell every game this season. She has made 120 saves, posting a .476 save percentage and an 11.93 goals-against average.

Scouting Villanova
Villanova sits only one game above Butler in the BIG EAST standings, posting a 1-4 record with a win over Connecticut, and losses to Georgetown, Marquette, Vanderbilt, and Florida. The Wildcats travel to Denver, Colo. to take on the Pioneers before hosting the Bulldogs on April 18.
Katie Comerford is a threat for the Bulldog defense, scoring 24 goals and dishing out 23 assists to lead the team in points (47). Jillian Swikart has 31 goals in her 11 games played, while Ashley Lynch has put 18 in the back of the net and dished out 19 assists. Liz Trojan is another Wildcat with over 20 goals. The sophomore has 26 goals and six assists.
Goalkeeper Julia Michaels (4-4) has seen time in goal every game this season for the Wildcats, starting 10 of the 12. She has made 47 saves with a 14.71 goals-against average. Elizabeth Armstrong also helps out Michaels defensively, causing 28 turnovers and picking up 30 ground balls.
