INDIANAPOLIS – Butler will play at IU-Kokomo on Tuesday night and then host Miami Ohio on Wednesday afternoon. The Tuesday night game between BU and IU-Kokomo will be played at Kokomo Municipal Stadium. Wednesday's game between the Bulldogs and Redhawks will stream on Facebook Live.

Scouting Indiana University Kokomo
Indiana University Kokomo is an NAIA opponent that plays at Kokomo Municipal Stadium. The facility opened in 2015 and has been voted one of the best facilities in all of college baseball. The field features a turf surface and fixed seating for 3.000 fans. The Cougars are 21-8 at home this year and 27-18-1 overall. As a team, IU-Kokomo hits .300. They are led offensively by Tavon Lindsay who has recorded 56 hits in 46 games. Jared Heard and Dalton Clarke are also impressive bats in the Cougar lineup. Heard has a team-high 12 doubles to go along with a .338 batting average. Clarke is the team leader with 41 RBI. He has a team-high seven home runs.
Scouting Miami Ohio
The Redhawks are 23-13 this year after dropping two of three at Northern Illinois last weekend. Common opponents between Miami Ohio and Butler include Ball State and Xavier. Xavier won three-straight over Miami in mid-March, but the Redhawks came back to notch a 6-5 win over the Musketeers in April. Last weekend the Redhawks would take two of three from Ball State in MAC action. The top player in the Miami lineup is senior infielder Ross Haffey. The 6-5 first baseman is batting .346 with 11 doubles and 11 home runs for a team-high 32 RBI. The Redhawks midweek starter will be either RHP Jay Wilson or RHP Bailey Martin. Wilson is a 6-5 freshman with a 5.60 ERA. He is 0-1 over eight total appearances. Martin is a 6-4 junior with a 3-3 record on the mound. He holds a 6.89 ERA with 26 strikeouts in 31.1 innings.
BIG EAST Bye Week
Butler will face Illinois State this weekend as part of their BIG EAST bye weekend. BU hosted Mercer in 2016 during their off week and played at West Virginia in 2015. Conference matchups this weekend features St. John's playing at Xavier. Villanova playing at Seton Hall and Georgetown playing at Creighton.
BIG EAST Tournament Talk
The 2018 BIG EAST Baseball Tournament will be played at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio from May 24-27. The top four teams in the conference standings make up the tournament field. The double elimination tournament will be hosted by Xavier, the 2017 tournament champions. The park is located 20 miles north of Cincinnati.
