The Bulldogs faced the Red Storm on Saturday afternoon, but couldn't pull out the win on the road. The teams battled back and forth, ending with St. John's winning the fifth set to seal the match (22-25, 25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 11-15). 

Senior middle blocker Bri Lilly had a double-double with 12 kills and 12 blocks. She also led the Bulldogs in aces with six. Redshirt-junior setter Maddie Freiwald led the offense with 30 assists while also recording seven digs. Freshman libero Elizabeth LaBue led the Bulldogs in digs with 19.

Freshman outside hitter Efrosini Alexakou led St. John's with 22 kills. Junior setter Erica Di Maulo led the team in assists with 49 and junior libero Amanda Sanabia recorded 31 digs on the night.

The Bulldogs fall to 4-10 on the season and 1-1 in BIG EAST play. The Red Storm improves to 13-5 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

Butler returns home for their next BIG EAST match-ups, taking on Creighton on Friday, September 28, and Providence the following day. Both matches begin at 6 p.m. Festivities surround these games as the Creighton match is Daddy and Daughter Night, and the Providence match is part of Butler's Homecoming Weekend.
