Scouting #10 Creighton
The Bluejays are one of the best teams in the country this season as they visit Hinkle Fieldhouse with a 10-4 overall record. Three of their four losses came to a ranked opponent. The Bluejays opened the year with a 3-2 win vs. #5 Kentucky. Other top tier teams on the schedule include #10 USC, #7 Nebraska, #8 Illinois and most recently #21 Marquette. Creighton opened the conference season 2-0 with wins over DePaul and Marquette. Each victory was a 3-0 sweep. The top two options for setter Madelyn Cole are Taryn Kloth and Jaali Winters. Kloth averages 4.27 kills per set, the second-best average in the conference and her teammate Winters ranks third at 3.76. Cole is the only setter in the BIG EAST to average over 10 assists per set. She is a well-rounded player that also leads the team with 16 service aces and ranks third on the team in digs (124).

Scouting Providence
The Friars are 7-6 overall after splitting a pair of matches over the opening weekend of conference competition. They lost 3-0 to #21 Marquette, but logged a 3-2 win vs. DePaul the following day. Allison Impellizeri is sure to impact the match when the Friars play the Bulldogs. Impellizeri leads the team with 159 kills and 43 blocks. She hits for a high percentage at .350 and ranks third on the team in service aces with eight. Allison Barber will set the action with her team-best 469 assists. The Providence dig leader is Mackenzie Taylor with 215.

All-Time Series
Butler has only defeated Creighton one time in ten tries. The victory came in the first meeting of the 2013 season, Butler's first in the BIG EAST. BU knocked off then-ranked #22 Creighton inside Hinkle Fieldhouse 3-1. The Bluejays have won the last nine, but each match last year went a full five sets. The all-time series against Providence stands at 9-0 in favor of the Bulldogs. Butler swept the Friars in each match last year.

Lilly Lands on BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Bri Lilly averaged 2.12 blocks and 5.38 points per set while hitting .449—all second-best in the league last weekend. She had 15 kills and hit .500 in a win over Seton Hall. She also collected a double-double with 12 kills and 12 blocks at St. John's.

Triple Threat
Head Coach Sharon Clark has three players with 130 kills or more this season. Brooke Gregory and Bri Lilly share the team lead with 137 each and Natalie Ravenell is close behind in third with 130. The only other BIG EAST teams to have three players over 130 kills are Creighton, Georgetown and St. John's. The top three teams in the conference standings.

Lilly With the Ace
Bri Lilly recorded six service aces at St. John's to move her season total to 12. Only six other Bulldogs in school history have recorded more than six service aces in a single-match. The school record of nine belongs to Hall of Famer Laura Baire.

Lilly Continues To Climb BU Record Book
Bri Lilly now has 441 total blocks in her Butler career, a total places her ninth all-time in the BU record book. She is just three blocks shy of eighth place which is currently held by Erica Stahl (2012-14). Lilly is also chasing Stahl on the all-time list in block assists. She currently ranks fifth all-time at BU with 391 block assists. Stahl ranks fourth with 398.

Bulldogs Know how to Block
Butler recorded 23 total blocks in the five-set match at St. John's to tie the school record originally set in 2011 vs. Valparaiso. 44 block assists against the Johnnies is the highest total ever recorded at BU. The Bulldogs have now recorded more blocks than their opponent in 10-straight matches and have reached ten or more blocks in seven of their last eight games. The Bulldogs recorded 320.5 blocks in 2017, the fourth-highest team total in program history.

Up Next
Butler will play three BIG EAST matches next week with two of the three happening inside Hinkle Fieldhouse. BU will make a quick trip to Chicago to face DePaul on Wednesday and then return to Indianapolis to host both Georgetown and Villanova.
