INDIANAPOLIS – Butler will return to action this Saturday night with a road game at Taylor. Each team heads into week two of the regular season with a 1-0 record. The game will stream live on the Taylor Athletics YouTube page.

PACE TEMPLE NAMED STATS FCS NATIONAL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK AND PFL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Temple led all FCS receivers with 14 catches, including five during Butler's final two scoring drives in a 23-21 upset victory at No. 24 Youngstown State. Temple recovered the on-side kick to set up the game-winning drive on which he had two receptions for 21 yards. He began the day with back-to-back receptions of 31 and 28 yards on Butler's first touchdown drive. Temple's lone touchdown was Butler's second score of the game as he caught a six-yard pass to begin the fourth quarter.
BEVELHIMER NAMED PFL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Bevelhimer connected on 44-yard field goal with four seconds left to give Butler a 23-21 victory at No. 24 Youngstown State. After Butler's two-point conversion try failed, Butler executed an on-side kick recovered by
Pace Temple to setup another drive, Bevelhimer then connected on the 44-yard field goal to lift Butler to the win. Bevelhimer also connected on both his PATs in the contest.
SCOUTING THE TROJANS: Taylor erased a 14-point first quarter deficit to come back and defeat Indiana Wesleyan 43-31. The Trojans outscored Indiana Wesleyan 21-0 in the second quarter to mount the comeback. Taylor used two quarterbacks over opening weekend. Everett Pollard threw for 168 yards and two scores while Zac Saltzgaber threw for 62 yards and one TD. Saltzgaber is a dual threat that also led Taylor in rushing yards with 65. The top weapons on the outside for Taylor are Daniel Boy and Grant Hohlbein. Boy caught a 63-yard bomb for a TD and Hohlbein led the team with six receptions for 42 yards.
MARTY UNDER CENTER: Will Marty completed 65 percent of his passes at Youngstown State to gain 253 yards through the air. His TD passes went to WR

Sam Yeaton. It was Yeaton's first touchdown of his career.
RECIPE FOR SUCCESS: Butler was only flagged once over opening weekend and did not commit a single turnover.
BEND DON'T BREAK: Butler allowed 235 yards on the ground at YSU, but didn't allow a rushing touchdown.

Mason Brunner all shared the team lead in tackles with seven.
GIEBEL GETS OFF TO A GOOD START: Evan Giebel averaged 38.4 yards per punt at YSU. His long was 42 yards and he pinned the Penguins inside the 20-yard line one time.
PACE PUTS ON A SHOW: WR
Pace Temple set career-high totals in both receptions (14) and yards (167) in Butler's win at YSU. He caught 10 passes vs. Valpo last year in the final game of the regular season. His old career-high for receiving yards was 156 at Franklin in 2017. Temple has nine 100-yard receiving games in his BU career.
MARTY MAKES A STATEMENT: QB
Will Marty led Butler to a touchdown on the team's first drive of the 2018 season. He hit
Pace Temple on two long passes then rushed for his third career touchdown on the ground. Marty's only other three touchdown game came in 2017 at Franklin. He tossed three touchdowns while collecting a career-high 313 yards.
UPPERCLASSMEN UP FRONT: QB
Will Marty will have two seniors to his right, two juniors to his left another senior up the middle at center to form an experienced offensive line this year.
MOVE THE CHAINS: Butler went 8 of 16 on third down conversions at YSU. They went 3-for-5 on third down in the fourth quarter. All three third down conversions for BU came on the first drive of the fourth quarter. Marty ran for two yards on a 3rd and 1. He hit Schwantz for 14 yards on 3rd and 5, and found Marbaugh for 19 yards on 3rd and 4.
DEFENSE WINS DOWN THE STRETCH: The Bulldogs had 18 different players record a tackle at YSU.

Mickey Kane came up with a fumble recovery.
