School records fell this weekend as the Bulldogs posted impressive performances at the Gladstein Invite, hosted by Indiana. The weekend was highlighted by a win in the 800 meters by
Camille Hines and personal bests from several student-athletes.
Hines finished in the top spot after running the 800 in 2:11.40, which is good for third all-time in Butler history.
Allie Vogeler also put her name in the Butler record book, breaking her own school record in the 600 meters with a time of 1:32.60. That time was good fourth overall at the Invite.
Vogeler also took second in the 400 meters with a time of 56.32. Teammate
Josephine Thestrup continued her success in the distance events, finishing fifth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:46.92.
On the men's side,
Wade Walder topped the Butler school record in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing in 8.35 seconds for third in his section. Walder also had a nice showing in the pole vault, finishing seventh with a mark of 4.45 meters.
In the 600 meters,
Jacob Uhl (1:21.33),
Chandler McGaha (1:21.54), and
Trey Harris (1:21.99) finished 2-4 in the 600 meters. Those times are good for the 4-6 spots in the Butler record books, respectively.
Freshman
James Sweeney posted a personal best in the 3,000 meters, finishing in 8:38.33 for fourth overall.
Luke Russell had a solid performance in the long jump, finishing with a 6.86m mark, which was good for fifth overall.
The Bulldogs return to Bloomington next weekend, competing in the IU Relays from Jan. 25-26.
