Information on @ButlerMBB's #Project44 Game Wednesday Night vs. Marquette

Despite Butler University being closed Wednesday due to cold temperatures, the men's basketball game vs. Marquette will be played as scheduled (6:30 p.m. at Hinkle Fieldhouse). The Clowes Hall showing of School of Rock will also take place as scheduled.

Tickets for tonight's game are still available

Wednesday's game serves as the annual Project 44 game in honor of the late Andrew Smith. To date, Project 44 has added thousands of new members to the Be The Match bone marrow registry, resulting in 21 matches, three donations, and two additional scheduled donations. Wearing No. 44, Smith was a standout member of Butler's back-to-back national championship game teams (2010, 2011). On January 12, 2016, at the age of 25, Andrew passed away following a two-year battle with cancer.

During the first media timeout of the first half, Samantha Smith and others will take the Hinkle Fieldhouse court to recognize the most recent life-saving individuals who entered the Be The Match registry through Project 44. There will be a pregame Project 44 recognition as well.

Those interested in joining the Be The Match registry can do so in the main concourse of Hinkle Fieldhouse at tonight's game. At any point, those who are between the ages of 18-44 and in good general health can also join the registry by texting 'ANDREW' to 38470.

Due to tonight's cold temperatures, parking in the Sunset Avenue Garage will be free to all patrons. A shuttle will run from the parking garage to Hinkle before and after the game, departing from Gate 1. (Please obey all neighborhood parking signs.)

Fans are encouraged to arrive as early as possible to avoid lines at the entrances. (Hinkle Fieldhouse doors will open at 5 p.m. tonight.) Portable heaters will be placed at Gates 1, 4, 5 and the student entrance.

Your safety is important to us. Please dress warmly and protect your extremities by wearing hats, mittens, boots, etc.
