After 92 minutes of scoreless play, Katie Soderstrom drilled the golden goal to give Butler the edge over Creighton in Omaha on Thursday night. The Bulldogs move to 7-4-1 (2-1-1), while the Blue Jays drop to 7-5-1 (1-2-1).

How It Happened:
The Bulldogs and Blue Jays dug in for 90 minutes of play, rendering a scoreless game at the end of regulation.

Creighton held the advantage over Butler in all offensive stat categories, but the Bulldogs came out ready to strike in overtime.

Two minutes in, after a Bulldogs throw in, Anja Savich cleared a ball to Creighton's half of the pitch, giving Macy Miller the chance to take the a Blue Jay defender one-on-one up the right side of the field.

Miller got past her defender in the box and sent a cross over to the left side that was interrupted by the Blue Jays, and left the ball up for grabs.

Savich took advantage of the free ball and open space, taking a shot on target that was deflected by the Jays' goalie. The rebound set Soderstrom up for a perfect chip in to take the 1-0 win.

Notable Stats:
  • Soderstrom netted her sixth goal of the season
  • Savich led the Bulldogs with three shots
  • Stephanie Rodriguez collected seven saves for BU
  • The win is Butler's first OT win of 2019
