Bulldogs goalie Stephanie Rodriguez was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday, Oct. 28. The accolade comes after Rodriguez anchored Butler's defense in a 1-0 win at Providence and a 3-0 victory against Marquette.

Rodriguez added two shutouts to her growing BIG EAST-leading tally this season, denying three shots in a road win against the Friars on Thursday and at home against the Golden Eagles on Sunday. The clean sheets were her eighth and ninth of the season, lowering her goals against average to 0.73, best among BIG EAST keepers with at least 10 appearances.

Rodriguez has posted shutouts against the last five conference opponents and has not allowed a goal (home or away) since Bulldogs 1-1 2OT tie with Villanova on Oct. 6.

The shutout against Marquette ties Rodriguez for first on Butler's single season record list. Madison Card is the only other Bulldog keeper to claim nine shutouts in a season (2015).

The junior has played every minute (1597) between the posts for the Bulldogs, which ranks second among conference goalies.  She has also grabbed 49 saves, allowing just 13 goals in 17 games, bringing her save percentage to .790.

This is Rodriguez's second goalkeeper selection and her fourth nod on the weekly awards. She was named Goalkeeper of the Week on Oct. 14 after shutouts against Creighton and St. John's, while receiving two honor mentions earlier in the season (Aug. 26 and Sept. 23).
