The Butler women's soccer team fell to 1-1-0 in the BIG EAST after a 2-1 loss to DePaul on Thursday, October 3.
 
How It Happened:
 
The Blue Demons came out firing as the team's top scorers, Krisin Boos and Morgan Turner, both drilled a goal in the first period.
 
DePaul would lead 2-0 until the 41^st minute when Katie Soderstrom made a sliding kick off the rebound from the Blue Demon's goalkeeper.  The Bulldogs went into the locker room trailing 2-1.
 
The next half would be an even battle, as both teams took four shots. Bulldogs keeper, Stephanie Rodriguez, stopped both shots on goal, preventing another score from the Blue Demons.
 
The Bulldogs had three corner opportunities and a few set-ups, but could not finish the execution. 
 
Notable Stats:

• Soderstrom nailed her fifth goal of the season
• Macy Miller and Payton Black lead the team with two shots apiece
• Seven Bulldogs starters played all 90 minutes

Next Up:
Butler will return to Indianapolis for the BIG EAST home opener against Villanova on Sunday, October 6. Kick-off at the Sellick Bowl is set for 1 PM.
