Butler posted a pair of wins Saturday, downing host Northern Illinois and then following that with a win over Green Bay. Both matches were played in Rockford, Ill.
 
The Bulldogs needed a huge rally to take down NIU by a score of 4-3. The Huskies started by taking the doubles point and the first two singles matches to be completed (at the fourth and second spots). From there, one by one, the four seniors in the Butler line-up stepped up with singles wins.
 
Aviv Ben Shabat disposed of Bor Schweiger Muzar, 6-3, 6-4, at the No. 3 singles spot to get Butler on the board. At the No. 1 spot, Mason Dragos came back from a set down to post a 4-6, 6-1, 7-5 win over Eric Marbach. The tying point came from Spencer Lang at No. 5 singles as he took down Shao-Yu Yu, 6-4, 6-2.
 
The deciding match fell to the racket of Adrian Mag. After losing a first-set tiebreaker, Mag responded with consecutive 6-3 sets to take both the individual and team win.
 
The second match of the day did not include as much drama as Butler topped Green Bay, 4-1. After taking the doubles point thanks to Lang and Thomas Brennan winning a 7-6 (3) set at No. 3 doubles, the Bulldogs followed with straight-set singles wins from Brennan, Ben Shabat and freshman Ryan Roegner.
 
The Bulldogs have won eight of their last nine matches and are now 9-4 on the season.
 
Butler returns to action March 1 with a 1 p.m. match against Cardinal Stritch at the Butler Bubble in Indianapolis.
