Claire Gilliland followed with a two-run single.
Andersen went 3-for-3 at the plate. She and fellow senior
Jenna Foreman combined for five of the Bulldogs' eight hits.
Kaitlin Doud came on in relief of starter
Alyssa Graves. Doud pitched the final 4.1 innings, scattering four hits and allowing only one earned run. She picked up her first win of the season (1-2).
In the second game against host Western Kentucky, the Bulldogs ran into WKU pitcher Kennedy Sullivan, who struck out a career-high 16 Bulldogs. She improved to 6-0 on the season. Butler mustered only three hits and four walks. One of those hits was a double from pinch-hitter
