The Bulldogs were victorious in their seventh straight match on Wednesday, defeating Austin Peay, 7-0. Butler took two of three in doubles play, and swept singles play in its first match since March 1.
Doubles play started off strong for the Bulldogs at the No. 1 court, with
Mason Dragos and
Ryan Roegner defeating Almantas Ozelis and Anton Damberg, 6-2. Austin Peay took the No. 3 doubles match, but
Adrian Mag and
Aviv Ben Shabat clinched the point in the No. 2 spot, 7-5.
All six Bulldogs were successful in singles play with Dragos,
Spencer Lang, Mag, and Roegner defeating their opponents in straight sets. Dragos clinched the match at the No. 1 court, taking down Ozelis 7-5, 6-4.
Thomas Brennan came from behind in the No. 2 spot to defeat Christian Edison 5-7, 7-5, 1-0 .
Aviv Ben Shabat also tallied a comeback victory, beating Damberg 6-7, 6-4, 1-0 to clinch the sweep for the Bulldogs.
Butler returns to its home court on Friday, hosting Wright State at Noon and Grand Valley State at 5 p.m.
