Butler's 2018-19 season came to an end Wednesday night in Lincoln, Neb., as the Bulldogs dropped an 80-76 decision in the first round of the NIT.
The Bulldogs finish the season with a mark of 16-17. Nebraska advances to the second round of the NIT and will play at TCU. The Cornhuskers improve to 19-16.
Isaiah Roby led Nebraska with 28 points. He made nine of his 12 attempts from the field as Nebraska shot 50 percent as a team. James Palmer added 23 points.

Jordan Tucker three-point play trimmed the margin to 71-70 with 81 seconds remaining. Nebraska converted on their final five possessions of the game to secure the win.
Butler made 12 three-pointers (12-28) in the contest, led by a 4-of-6 performance from McDermott, who finished with team-highs of 14 points and seven rebounds. Â
Aaron Thompson posted his first career double-double with 11 points and a career-best 12 assists.
Paul Jorgensen added 12 points in his Butler finale.
Nebraska had a 36-26 advantage on the boards and scored 40 points in the paint. The Cornhuskers hit 23 of 27 free throws.
