Latsko, Rumsey Earn BIG EAST Weekly Honors


NEW YORK -- Karina Latsko and Amanda Rumsey earned BIG EAST Player of the Week honors after an announcement from the league office. The Bulldogs are coming off a 10-8 victory against St. Bonaventure. The Bulldogs will return to action tomorrow with a 1 PM home game vs. Louisville.

BIG EAST Attacker Of The Week
Karina Latsko, Butler, So., A
Latsko led the Bulldogs to their second win of the year with a game-high four goals in Friday's 10-8 home victory over St. Bonaventure. The sophomore was credited with the game-winning score while adding five draw controls and two ground balls. She fired a game-high six shots and scored on all four which landed on target.
 
BIG EAST Midfielder Of The Week
Natalia Lynch, Georgetown, Jr., M
In a 1-1 week for the nationally ranked Hoyas, Lynch tallied five points off three goals and two assists, 11 draw controls, six ground balls and five caused turnovers. The junior went for a goal and assist, along with five draws, four ground balls and two caused turnovers in Wednesday's setback at then-No. 16/15 Johns Hopkins, before registering two goals, an assist, six draws, three CT and two GB in Saturday's win at Delaware.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player Of The Week
Amanda Rumsey, Butler, So., GK
Rumsey picked up her second win of the season in net for the Bulldogs, making nine saves in a 10-8 win over St. Bonaventure on Friday. The sophomore faced 22 shots on the afternoon and posted a .529 save percentage.
 
BIG EAST Freshman Of The Week
Jordyn Sabourin, Georgetown, Fr., M
Sabourin started both games in the 1-1 week for then-No. 18/18 Georgetown, totaling six draw controls at then-No. 16/15 Johns Hopkins and Delaware. The freshman helped the Hoyas maintain possession as GU outshot its opponents by a combined 60-44 margin, including 45-35 on net, while forcing 36 total turnovers.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Grace Gabriel, Marquette, Sr., M
Gabriel totaled four points off three goals and an assist, 11 draw controls, three caused turnovers and three ground balls in a pair of road games over the weekend.

Charlotte McGuire, Marquette, Grad., A
McGuire totaled seven goals in a pair of road games for the Golden Eagles, scoring a hat trick at Ohio State on Friday before tallying four goals at High Point on Sunday.

Morgan Ryan, Georgetown, Sr., A
Ryan tallied seven goals in a 1-1 week for the nationally ranked Hoyas, scoring three at then-No. 16/15 Johns Hopkins before going for four in a win at Delaware. She was 2-2 in free position shots and added three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
