INDIANAPOLIS – Butler and Creighton split a BIG EAST doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The Bluejays took the first game 7-5, but the Bulldogs would fight back to claim a victory in game two 5-0.
Connor Schultz was superb in the series finale. The sophomore tossed eight scoreless innings while striking out seven batters.
Schultz shut down a high-powered offense in game two by limiting the Bluejays to five hits. He improved to 5-0 on the year before handing the ball off to
Jack Pilcher in the ninth.

Zach Jarosz each recorded two RBI in the victory. Jarosz and McGrath each collected two hits for BU at the bottom of the order.
Scoring opened up in the first with a two-RBI single to centerfield from All. The lead would grow to 3-0 after a solo shot from
Robbie McCargar in the third.
Jarosz would add insurance runs for Butler in the fourth and eighth inning. He picked up a sac fly RBI to score
Zach Parker and would later single to right to score McGrath.
Game one on Saturday went to Creighton by the final score of 7-5. Will Robertson and Jordan Hovey led the Bluejays to victory. Robertson homered in the first and Hovey would double down the rightfield line as part of a big fifth inning that made the game 6-1.
Butler cut that lead to 6-5 after the sixth inning. Parker came up with a double to left center to highlight the action.
Connor Dall scored McGrath on a ground out and Jarosz would hit a sac fly to get BU within one.
Creighton got that run back in the seventh off a sac fly to center from Hovey. The win would go to Denson Hull (2-3) and the save would go to John Sakowski (1). Butler's
Sam Hubbe was hit with the loss (3-2).
Alex Voss would take over the final five innings. He struck out six and limited CU to just three hits.
Butler will return to action on Tuesday with a 7 PM game at Purdue. The game will air on FS1.
