DAYTON – Butler took a 6-1 road loss at Dayton on Tuesday night at DP&L Stadium. The Bulldogs will now shift their focus to the start of the BIG EAST season. BU will host St. John's for a three-game series this weekend. Game one on Friday afternoon will stream live on BEDN.
 
Butler scored first at Dayton in the top of the third inning after an RBI double down the right field line by Kyle Smith. Connor Dall singled to get on and would score from first on the extra base hit.
 
The lead wouldn't hold as the Flyers responded with two runs in the bottom of the third. They increased their lead with a solo score in the fifth and would add two more in the sixth. Their sixth and final run would come home in the seventh.
 
Joe Graziano would take the loss on the hill for the Bulldogs. The sophomore tossed five full frames and struck out eight. Graziano allowed three earned runs off six hits.
 
Kevin Napoleon, Greg Gilbert, Ryan Schmit and Austin Waeghe also saw time out of the BU bullpen.
